The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is characterized by an abundant and distinguished natural heritage that includes various kinds of landmarks, natural landscapes, native life and wildlife along with wetlands, desert and coastalareas. This natural heritage provides one of the most important sustainable economic revenues for tourism industry.

Natural heritage is a crucial element in tourism industry. Its role lies intourist attraction that can be developed to entertain visitors and residents and thus contribute to the national economy without harming the natural heritage beinga source in its own,nor the local residential communities. In other words, develop a tourist resource management and maintenance in a framework that achieveseffectiveness and sustainability.

The SCTH Strategy of the environmental Impact on Tourism 
The SCTH strategy provides a focus on the environmental impacts and the conservation of natural resources where it has worked on the following:
  • Set an environmental training program to raise awareness level and prepare guides and workers at the tourism sector and provide them with the necessary certificates.
  • Train tourist guides and operators in the field of environmental safety, security and protection with the cooperation of the SCTH partners who provide training   in these fields
  • Consider the necessary mechanisms to monitor environmental training and grant certificates to tourist guides and operators.
