Cultural Heritage Development Projects
The visitors of the 1st Saudi Archaeology Convention, to be held at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Center in Riyadh from 7 - 9 November 2017, will have the opportunity to join a number of local and international archaeologists in a live experience of archeological excavation dedicated to this event at the Convention venue.
The event is aimed at introducing the public to the archeological excavation and discovery, methods of identifying archaeological objects, the tools used in the excavation process, and the precise drilling method carried out by archaeological explorers in remote desert areas of the Kingdom.
The work is underway to design a site that simulates the selected sites of archeological excavations in the Kingdom, besides detailing of the discovered relics.
The Convention is not just a scientific conference, but most of its events are oriented to the public, where the Forum will have exhibitions, events and various shows to highlight the Kingdom's archaeology and introduce citizens to antiquities.
The Forum will be attended by about 30 Saudi-international archeological teams that are currently undertaking archeological excavations across the Kingdom.
10 exhibitions specialized in archaeology will accompany the Forum, as well as a number of projects and initiatives related to archaeology in the Kingdom will be inaugurated.
The Convention will be organized by SCTH under the umbrella of the "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cultural Heritage Initiative", in collaboration with King Abdul Aziz Dara, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ministry of Education, in addition to a number of relevant State institutions.
