Under the precious patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA and His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Amir of Al Madina region, the Taibah University, in collaboration with SCTA will organize, "The 1st Conference of Archaeology and Tourism in Al Ula: Challenges and aspirations" from 11-13 February 2013.
 
 
Conference Objectives:
The conference aims to highlight the cultural role of the people of Al Ula, review appropriate means to preserve the cultural heritage in Al Ula, review practical experience and examples of sustainable development in archeology and tourism, discuss Al Ula Municipality's tourism potential, experience exchanging in the field of archeology and tourism, and enhancing prospects of cooperation between the private and public sectors in this field.
 
 
Conference Themes:
The scientific committee of the conference has received 180 research papers submitted by specialized researchers in archeology and tourism originating from 24 countries. The conference will discuss a number of important topics in the field of archeology and tourism.
