"Roads of Arabia" Exhibition at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, Missouri, USA








 
 
The Mobile Gallery of Saudi Arabia, "Saudi Archeological Masterpieces through the Ages", which is making its global tour is set to be hosted by Nelson Atkins Museum of art, Kansas City, Missouri State in its fourth stop in the US, which is also its eighth leg internationally.
 
The exhibition will be held from April 23 to July 6, 2014, through 250 relics covering a period of time stretching from "Paleolithic" (1 million years BP), until the appearance of the Saudi state.
 
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is the fourth stop of this unprecedented exhibition on Saudi antiquities in the United States in its scheduled stop in five US major museums over a period of two years. The exhibition hosted in first three station in the United States in the United States in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC, the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Museum of fine arts in Houston, Texas.
 
The exhibition focuses on the ancient trade routes that crisscrossed the Arabian Peninsula, and its impact on the cultural exchange between different nations in the past, besides highlighting the development of Haj routes after the advent of Islam.
