Roads of Arabia” Expo at the Benaki Museum in Greece
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and in the presence of His Excellency Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage Ahmad bin Aqil Al-Khatib, Greek Minister of Culture Lydia Koniordou inaugurated the 16th version of the “Roads of Arabia, Masterpieces of Antiquities in Saudi Arabia Across the Ages” Exhibition, which is organised by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage at the Benaki Museum in the Greek capital Athens for three months.
Virtual Museum and 466 Rare Pieces
The museum included a technical virtual museum that SCTH had organized to highlight the most prominent archaeological pieces in the Kingdom, and it showcased around 466 rare archaeological pieces from various regions of the Kingdom covering eras spanning from the Old Stone Age (one million years B. C.) since the pre-history ages to pre-Islamic old ages and then the early, central and late Arab kingdoms civilizations, passing through the Islamic era and the central Islamic age until the establishment of the Saudi state with its three phases until the reign of King Abdulaziz (May His Soul Rest in Peace), the founder of the modern Saudi state.

“Roads of Arabia, Masterpieces of Antiquities in Saudi Arabia Across the Ages” Exhibition is one of the most important international Saudi exhibitions that offered the cultural heritage of the Kingdom and the Arabian Peninsula to more than five million visitors from various countries through holding the exhibition in the most renowned international museums in European, American and Asian capitals and cities, where the exhibition was an important and vital opportunity to acquaint the work with the civilisations of the Kingdom and the Arabian Peninsula and what they enjoy of a big cultural heritage and civil and cultural factors that date back to ages.
