The signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between SCTA and the Ministry of Labor
For the development of national human resources to be qualified to work in the tourism sector
On Sunday 9th Sept. 2012
Scope of the Memorandum is for 3 years, renewed by mutual agreement
 
 
Highlights of the MOC:
    • Rehabilitation of university graduates in some disciplines by theoretically prep aringthem to work in the tourism sectors
    • To cooperate in laying out the "National program for development of handicrafts", and the creation of employment opportunities for all segments of society in the regions and municipalities of the Kingdom.
    • Cooperation in the establishment of "National program for the development of handicrafts and industries", and the creation of employment opportunities for all segments of society in the regions and governorates of the Kingdom
    • Cooperation and coordination between the two sides to prepare a national program for Saudization in the domestic tourism sector, in a manner not inconsistent with "Nataqat" (Saudization) program, and the priority of employment will be for those enrolled in the "Hafiz" program.
    • Activating the role of Saudi universities in the promotion of Tourism and Antiquities sector, and contribute to the preparation of programs and studies that help to overcome many of the challenges faced by graduates from the colleges and institutes of Tourism and Antiquities.
    • Develop systems and regulatory framework for seasonal employment, and part-time jobs and teleworking in tourist facilities.
    • Support training and employment programs in tourism in various regions of the Kingdom and support specialized lending institutions in accordance with the regulations and mechanisms ascribed to the Human Resources Development Fund
    • Human Resources Development Fund to finance a number of studies and plans to develop human resources, and Saudization of jobs in the tourism sector.
    • To Develop and implement vocational awareness programs to stimulate citizens to join tourism and antiquities sectors related facilities.
    • Oblige Tourism and Antiquities engaged establishments to register their employees in the General Organization for Social Insurance.
    • Jointly to develop a mechanism for 'woman employment' in tourism and antiquities facilities in accordance with applied regulations.
    • Exchange information and statistics about jobs and employees in the tourism sector in the Kingdom, and conduct joint studies and research in the areas of labor and employment in the travel and tourism sectors in the Kingdom.
    • Communication and coordination with other concerned tourist professionals that are not supervised by the Commission, such as restaurants and transportation, to work on the preparation of Saudization plans through the ministry’s “Nataqat” database system.
